Massimadi is Montréal’s annual festival celebrating Afroqueer arts and film. The eight-day festival presented thirty films, a three-day art gallery, three discussion panels, and an opening ceremony that doubled attendance from the previous year.

For the final edition of its summer series, Messy Productions partnered with Multicolore to stage a queer takeover at Montreal’s iconic beach, Le Pied-du-Courant. The night featured a powerful lineup of lesbian, queer, and trans DJs blending reggaeton, Brazilian funk, jersey club, hip hop, and techno. hundreds gathered to dance in the sand as the sun set over the city to close out Montréal’s pride month on a radiant note.

messy productions transformed Village Pied-du-Courant into a vivacious queer party with DJ sets by Luci, Spinelli, Ms. Baby, and Niabi. Set against the St. Lawrence River, the event blended music, community and movement, creating an electric and intimate summer night.

MESSY Productions partnered with L’Idéal Bar & Contenus to present a sold-out Valentine’s Day experience featuring a curated three-course menu. Guests reserved tables for two or four, with individual tickets available for a communal mingling table. Following dinner, the celebration continued late into the night with DJ sets blending R&B, soul, love ballads, pop, and hip-hop.

messy productions brought their community-centered approach to Studio ZX’s CTRL+ALT Festival, curating a free, daytime event designed for all ages. Set in the heart of Ville-Marie, the gathering featured DJ sets by LUCI and JU!CE, with a performance by R&B group Strange Froots.
Blending music, art, and play, messy productions created a space where families, friends, and festivalgoers could connect with queer artists in an open and welcoming environment. With lawn games, face painting and performances, the event embodied the festival’s spirit—uplifting alternative art forms and fostering meaningful community engagement.

messy productions partnered with Fierté Montréal to throw the festival’s highest-attended event of 2023. Haviah Mighty headlined, with DJs Ms. Baby, A$H BANKS, Litney and Pu$$YRap spinning a mix of R&B, hip-hop, house, vogue, Amapiano, Afrobeats, dancehall, dembow, baile funk, and Jersey bounce—keeping the dancefloor packed from start to finish.
